Purchases are sold and billed by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. The full terms are set out below.
Unbuilt Lab subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider and Merchant of Record. One-time purchases (the On-Demand pack) are billed the same way. All card handling happens on their systems — we never see or store your card details.
The $14.99 On-Demand pack (2 Blueprint Packs + 1 Industry Atlas) is a consumable one-time purchase. On-Demand can be purchased multiple times.
Every purchase — monthly plan, annual plan, or On-Demand pack — is refundable in full within 7 days of payment, provided it is unused.
“Unused” has one specific meaning: no Blueprint Pack and no Industry Atlas has been generated since that purchase. Idea Reports, Signal Radar and the Validate Score are free and unlimited on every plan, so browsing them does not affect your eligibility.
We draw the line there because a generated Blueprint Pack or Industry Atlas costs us real, unrecoverable compute — live market research, multiple AI model calls, PDF assembly and delivery — the moment it is produced. Once one has been generated against a purchase, that purchase is no longer refundable.
Where local consumer law grants you a longer or stronger right of withdrawal, that law applies and overrides this section.
Contact us at hello@unbuiltlab.com from the email tied to your Unbuilt Lab account, with your payment reference. We review it, and where the request is eligible we raise the refund through Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider and Merchant of Record. Refunds are returned to your original payment method, normally within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.
Because Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record, your invoice and refund are issued by them. Any sales tax or VAT collected on the original purchase is refunded along with it.
You may cancel a subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future billing and you keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
When that period ends, subscription credits end with it — including any unused credits carried over from earlier cycles. Those are a benefit of an active subscription rather than something bought separately. If you resubscribe within 30 days, a carried-over balance is restored.
On-Demand pack credits are yours permanently. They are bought outright, never expire, and are not affected by cancelling, downgrading, or letting a subscription lapse.
Refund eligibility on a cancelled purchase is governed by Section 3.
Upgrades take effect immediately. Your unused plan credits transfer to the new plan, and the unused value of the period you already paid for is converted into extra days on the new plan, so no paid time is lost. Because value carries across rather than being refunded, an upgrade does not generate a refund of the previous plan.
Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep your current plan and its credits until then, so there is nothing to refund. A scheduled downgrade can be cancelled at any time before it takes effect.
Only one plan may be active and one change scheduled at a time. We do not prorate cash refunds on plan changes — the value moves with you instead.
Unused plan credits carry into the next cycle while your subscription is active, up to three cycles' worth. Carried credits are a benefit of an active subscription and hold no cash value: they are not refundable, not transferable, and cannot be converted to money. If your subscription lapses they are suspended, restored if you resubscribe within 30 days, and permanently forfeited after that.
On-Demand pack credits are separate. They are bought outright, never expire, and are unaffected by cancelling, downgrading or letting a subscription lapse.
If a Blueprint Pack or Industry Atlas fails to generate because of a technical fault on our side, the credit is returned to your account automatically so you can run it again. That returned credit is the sole and exclusive remedy for a failed generation; we do not issue cash refunds for failures, delays, or output you consider incomplete or low quality, because the compute cost is incurred either way.
Deliverables are also emailed as a convenience, but email delivery is not guaranteed. A deliverable that generated successfully but did not reach your inbox is not a failed generation — it remains available in the Downloads area of your account, and does not qualify for a refund.
If you think a charge is wrong, email hello@unbuiltlab.com before raising a dispute — we will correct genuine billing errors quickly. Raising a chargeback without contacting us may result in your account being suspended pending resolution, and disputing a charge for deliverables you have already generated and received is treated as a breach of our Terms.
If your On-Demand purchase produces a low-confidence Opportunity Brief (e.g., the input was too thin to score meaningfully), we automatically add a free retry credit to your account so you can resubmit with more detail. No cash refund is required in that case.
The Idea Generator tool (unbuiltlab.com/tools/idea-generator) is always free. Idea Reports, Signal Radar and the Validate Score are free and unlimited on every plan, including the free tier — no card required. Only Blueprint Packs and the Industry Atlas consume credits.
We reserve the right to modify subscription features, pricing, or availability with at least 30 days' notice to active subscribers. Active subscribers are grandfathered at their original price for at least 12 months at any future price increase.
