By accessing or using Unbuilt Lab ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
You must be at least 18 years of age or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction to use this service.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are billed securely through Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider and Merchant of Record. All card handling happens on their systems; we never see or store your card details. You can manage your payment method, view invoices and cancel your subscription from the billing portal linked in your receipt.
Paid plans include a monthly allowance of Blueprint Packs and Industry Atlas reports. Idea Reports, Signal Radar and the Validate Score are free and unlimited on every plan, including the free tier. Annual plans grant their allowance monthly across the term, not as a single up-front block.
You may hold only one active subscription at a time. While a plan is active you cannot purchase a second plan; you may upgrade, schedule a downgrade, or buy On-Demand packs, which are consumables and stack with any plan.
An upgrade takes effect immediately. Your unused plan credits transfer to the new plan, and the unused value of your current billing period is converted into additional days on the new plan so that no paid time is lost. A plan qualifies as an upgrade only if it is equal or greater on both tier and billing term; a change that raises one and lowers the other is offered as neither an upgrade nor a downgrade.
A downgrade is scheduled for the end of your current billing period. You keep your current plan and its credits until then. Only one scheduled change may be pending at a time, and you may cancel a scheduled change at any point before it takes effect.
Unused plan credits carry over into the next billing cycle while your subscription remains active, up to a maximum of three cycles' worth. Carried credits are a benefit of an active subscription: if your subscription lapses or is cancelled, they are suspended, and are permanently forfeited if you do not resubscribe within 30 days. On-Demand pack credits are purchased outright, never expire, and are unaffected by cancelling, downgrading or letting a subscription lapse.
If a plan ends without renewal you enter a 7-day grace period during which access and credits are preserved and you may renew. After the grace period the plan expires and the account reverts to the free tier.
We may change prices, plan allowances or the composition of any plan at any time. Changes apply to future billing periods and purchases only, never retroactively to a period you have already paid for. Where a change materially reduces what an active plan provides, we will give notice by email before it takes effect.
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record for every purchase. That means Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record for the transaction and is responsible for calculating, collecting and remitting any sales tax, VAT, GST or similar levy that applies to your purchase.
Prices are shown in US dollars. Any applicable tax is determined by your billing location and added at checkout before you pay, so the amount shown at checkout is the amount you are charged. Your receipt and invoice are issued by Lemon Squeezy and will name them as the seller.
If you are a business with a valid VAT or tax registration number, you may enter it at checkout and any applicable reverse-charge treatment will be applied automatically by Lemon Squeezy.
If you believe a charge is wrong, contact us at hello@unbuiltlab.com first — we will resolve legitimate billing errors. Because Lemon Squeezy is the Merchant of Record, refunds and disputes are settled through them, and we will raise an approved refund on your behalf. Raising a chargeback or payment dispute without contacting us may result in immediate suspension of your account pending resolution. Deliberately disputing a charge for deliverables you have already generated and received is treated as a breach of these Terms.
Unbuilt Lab is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not offer any uptime guarantee, service-level agreement, or committed response time, and we may suspend, limit or withdraw all or part of the service for maintenance, capacity, cost or any other reason.
The service depends on third-party infrastructure and AI providers (including, without limitation, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Perplexity) as well as third-party data sources. Outages, rate limits, model deprecations, policy changes or degraded output at any of those providers can interrupt or degrade the service, and are outside our control. We are not liable for any loss arising from such interruption.
Failed generation. If a Blueprint Pack or Industry Atlas fails to generate because of a technical fault on our side, the credit consumed is automatically returned to your account. That returned credit is your sole and exclusive remedy for a failed generation. We are not liable for any consequential loss — including lost time, missed deadlines or lost opportunity — arising from a failed, delayed, incomplete or degraded generation.
Delivery. Deliverables are shown in your account and, as a convenience, also emailed to you. Email delivery depends on networks, mail providers and spam filtering that we do not control, and we do not guarantee that any email will arrive. Your deliverables always remain available in the Downloads area of your account, which is the authoritative place to retrieve them. Failure of an email to arrive is not a service failure and does not entitle you to a refund.
Data. We take reasonable care of your account data but do not guarantee against loss, corruption or deletion, and we do not offer a customer-facing backup or restore service. You are responsible for downloading and keeping your own copies of any deliverable you wish to retain.
Access is provided for your own use in evaluating and building software opportunities. We may apply rate limits, and we may suspend or terminate an account that we reasonably believe is: automating, scraping or bulk-extracting the service or its catalogue; sharing one account across multiple people or organisations; reselling or redistributing deliverables; circumventing credit limits, free-tier limits or payment; or placing a disproportionate load on our systems or AI budget. Where we suspend an account for fair-use reasons and no deliverables have been generated in the affected period, we will refund the unused portion at our discretion.
Features marked beta, preview or experimental are provided for evaluation, may change or be withdrawn without notice, may produce lower-quality output, and are excluded from any commitment in these Terms. Credits consumed on a beta feature are not automatically refundable unless the feature failed to produce output at all.
Unbuilt Lab is an opportunity-discovery and research tool. It is not a validation service, a market-research consultancy, a financial or investment advisor, a legal advisor, or a professional services firm. Deliverables (Idea Reports, Blueprint Packs, Opportunity Briefs, Market & Opportunity Reports, and any scores, market sizings, or recommendations) are provided as research artifacts and as a funnel input to your own validation process. Unbuilt Lab is intended for your personal research and as input to your own validation work — it is not intended to substitute for customer discovery, customer interviews, paid pilots, pre-orders, professional due diligence, or any other first-party validation activity, which remain your sole responsibility. By using the service you acknowledge that you have read and accept the full Disclaimer, which forms part of these Terms.
Unbuilt Lab's brand, UI, algorithms, scoring systems, prompts, and proprietary scraping/processing pipelines are our intellectual property. Ideas, opportunities, and Blueprints generated by Unbuilt Lab are not exclusively yours and may be shown, sold, or licensed to other users. We make no representation that any idea, name, design, or piece of code is original, novel, patentable, copyrightable, trademark-clear, or free from third-party intellectual-property or regulatory claims; clearance is your sole responsibility.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of any applicable fee, you may use the deliverables we generate for you — Idea Reports, Blueprint Packs, Opportunity Briefs, the AI Build Prompt, Industry Atlas reports and Signal Radar Niche Reports — for any lawful purpose, including commercially. That expressly includes building and selling the software described, adapting the material, and sharing it with your co-founders, employees, contractors, advisors or investors.
We claim no ownership of the business you build from a deliverable and take no equity, royalty or revenue share. We retain ownership of the underlying system that produced it — our brand, interface, scoring models, prompts and pipelines — and of the deliverable's template and formatting. You may not resell or redistribute deliverables as a standalone product, or use them to build a competing opportunity-research service.
This grant is not exclusive. As stated in section 7, the same or similar opportunity may be surfaced to other users, and nothing here restricts us from doing so.
When you submit your own idea (for example through Validate My Idea), you keep all rights in it. You grant us only the limited licence needed to run the service — to process, store and analyse your submission so we can return a score, report or Blueprint to you.
We do not sell your submitted ideas, publish them, show them to other users, or add them to our public opportunity catalogue, and we do not use them to train our own models. Your submission is transmitted to third-party AI providers for processing; we use their business/API tiers, under which those providers state they do not train their models on API content, but we cannot guarantee a third party's conduct or future policy. If an idea is genuinely confidential, treat submitting it to any cloud AI service — including ours — as a disclosure and decide accordingly.
You may not access or use Unbuilt Lab if you are located in, ordinarily resident in, or acting on behalf of any person or entity in a country or territory subject to comprehensive sanctions, or if you appear on any applicable restricted-party or denied-party list. By using the service you represent that none of these apply to you. We may suspend or terminate access to comply with sanctions, export-control or other applicable law.
The service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation any warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, reliability, or that scores or trend predictions will hold true. AI-generated content may contain errors, hallucinations, or fabricated citations and must be independently verified before use. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. See the full Disclaimer for the complete list of warranties expressly excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Unbuilt Lab, The Code Smith, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, licensors, and suppliers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages — including lost profits, lost revenue, lost runway, lost opportunity cost, business interruption, reputational harm, regulatory penalties, IP infringement claims, or data loss — arising out of or related to the service or any reliance on its content, regardless of legal theory. Our aggregate liability shall not exceed the greater of (i) the amount you paid to Unbuilt Lab in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (ii) USD $50.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Unbuilt Lab, The Code Smith, and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, licensors, and suppliers from and against any third-party claims, demands, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of (a) your use of the service; (b) any business, product, or service you build using ideas, names, designs, code, or recommendations surfaced by Unbuilt Lab; or (c) your breach of these Terms or the Disclaimer.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in abusive behavior. Sections 5 (Nature of Service), 7 (IP), 8 (Warranties), 9 (Liability & Indemnification), and the full Disclaimer survive termination.
Any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to your use of Unbuilt Lab or these Terms must be filed within one (1) year after the cause of action accrues; otherwise the claim is permanently barred. This shortened limitation period applies to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Unbuilt Lab is not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, civil unrest, government action, pandemic, labor disputes, internet or telecommunications outages, third-party API, model-provider, or payment-provider outages (including but not limited to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity, AWS, or Lemon Squeezy outages or policy changes), data-center failures, or denial-of-service attacks.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, except that mandatory consumer-protection laws of your home jurisdiction continue to apply where required. Disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Pune, Maharashtra, India, unless mandatory law requires otherwise. You and Unbuilt Lab each agree to waive any right to a jury trial and any right to participate in a class action, collective action, or representative proceeding, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect, and the unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable while preserving its intent.
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or any rights or obligations under them without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms freely, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and Disclaimer (each incorporated by reference), constitute the entire agreement between you and Unbuilt Lab regarding the service and supersede any prior or contemporaneous communications, proposals, or agreements.
We may update these Terms with at least 30 days' notice to active users. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
